PMS stands for Premenstrual Syndrome, and refers to the physical and emotional/mental symptoms that arise in the lead up to a woman’s period. Common signs and symptoms of PMS include mood swings and irritability, pain, cramping, acne, bloating, fluid retention, breast tenderness, breast swelling, sleeplessness and fatigue.

PMS + Stress Formula was designed to help with PMS and/OR stress. Meaning, you don't have to suffer from both to use it.

You can use PMS + Stress formula if you suffer from:

- Stress and anxiety only,

- PMS and stress together.

PMS symptoms are very common, however, in TCM, they are not viewed as normal. A normal period should be free of cramping, pain, bloating and discomfort.

In Chinese Medicine, the symptoms of PMS and the symptoms of stress and anxiety can be caused by the very same imbalance and pattern. Stagnation and blockage in the body can lead to hormonal imbalances causing PMS symptoms and it can also lead to the symptoms of stress and anxiety such as irritability, broken sleep and tight chest.

It is important to note here, that Zilch PMS + Stress Formula does not contain hormones, and does not act only on the hormonal system. This herbal formula is adaptogenic in nature, meaning its action is one that improves the body’s adaptability, enabling the body system in need to benefit from the process. The core action is to mitigate the physiological impacts from stress which can very much affect the hormonal system.

All our formulas are 100% natural, with no added preservatives or fillers. Some users may experience slight changes with their digestion and bowels after using new supplements. This can sometimes happen when the body is adjusting to the new ingredients. This is usually mild and temporary.

Herbs that have adaptogenic properties do just that: help your body adapt. They help your body better respond and recover from the physiological responses of stress.

Adaptogens have a certain criteria. They:
- cause a non-specific response - meaning it can act on several factors and systems within the body

- must not harm the body ( ie: does not interfere with the normal functioning of the body.

- must act to restore balance to the body by normalising the physiological state of the body, regardless of which direction the stressor acts. (Eg: If you are feeling stressed, its action is to calm; if you are feeling low, it works to lift.)
